I adored the hard-copy version of this wry and affectionate guide, and am delighted to find it again in app form. The guide is thoughtfully laid out, easy to navigate, and packed full of useful information. It would make a fine companion on a first (or tenth!) trip to Venice.
Condenses the fantastic swathes of endearing historical and cultural information that sets their guidebooks apart from all others into an a fantastic app with interactive map.
How does it work? Easy to access and page selection and searches are fast on my Android tab so happy bunny. What's in it? Lots of good stuff about Venice, its art, history events, and lots of links to follow to who knows where. Don't go to Venice without this app; or, sad sap like me who don't seem to get out as much as I should - just browse and dream.

Off to Venice soon, and was about to pack my tattered old Cadogan guide to the city when I found this app by the same authors. And like their book, this isn’t your everyday sound-bite app: it’s a pleasure to read, packed full of interesting nuggets on Venice history and art, and well, who knew that someone in Norway wrote an opera about a medieval Venetian merchant who introduced stockfish to Italy? Highly recommend to anyone genuinely interested in Venice.
